Frequently asked questions.

  • The first step is to submit your details & ideas, which can be done here. Our team will then recommend artists based on your ideas or if you have a preferred artist please let us know.

Majority of our artists can do a variety of styles, though some may have a preferred style they like to focus on so we like to check in with them before proceeding to avoid disappointment.

Once an artist has accepted an enquiry, we can organise a consultation to have a chat about concept/design, pricing and booking dates. Consultations are required for most mid - large scale works, or very detailed smaller pieces.

We can also make bookings without a consultation for smaller scale pieces or interstate clients, if you are interested or would like more information, definitely give us a call and we can help you out!

  • Our artists generally only begin designing once a client has made an official booking with a deposit which usually takes place a couple days before your tattoo session.

Based on your input, your artist will create a design concept. This can involve sketching or digital rendering to envision the tattoo. Kindly note not all artists provide a concept in advance and this varies artist to artist which can be discussed at the time of your consultation. Should you wish to make any changes or provide feedback, please do so prior to proceeding to allow opportunity for the artist to make changes. Also kindly note as the human body is not flat, designs can will differently once on the skin taking into consideration natural curvatures.

Remember, the design process can vary based on the tattoo artist, their style and complexity of the design. Please discuss this with your artist at your consultation or prior to booking in.

  • We kindly ask you arrive to your session showered, well rested, and having eaten a solid meal before your booking.

Feel free to clipper any hair in the tattoo placement area if needed, but our artists will usually shave the skin before starting your tattoo anyway.

Wear comfy clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area (dark colours if you don’t want to risk ink/blood stains).

Avoid drugs/blood thinning medication and alcohol 24 hours before your tattoo, and always check with your artist and/or health professional prior if you are on any regular prescription medication or have any chronic conditions to ensure your safety during your session.

  • Bring your snacks! Having lollies or sugar during your tattoo session can help maintain your blood sugar levels, helping fatigue and dizziness that some experience while getting tattooed.

Something to keep you entertained like headphones to watch your favourite show or a book are always good. They’ll help you focus on something other than the pain too!

  • We do not provide numbing cream as they may affect the skin and impact the tattoo process depending on the individual. Everyone’s skin can react differently and as there is a massive market for numbing creams, we strongly advise you check with a medical professional and artist before proceeding.

Based on experience and feedback, we’ve found that numbing creams can help with initial pain, however can make the pain almost worse as it wears off quite quick.

Ultimately, it is up to you as the client to do what will make you the most comfortable during the tattoo process, though we recommend if you can, go without.

  • To maintain a safe, clean and calm environment, we only permit staff and clients booked in into the tattoo area.

We understand some clients may like to have a support person present and they are welcome to come into the studio for drop off/pick up, however please note due to limited space our waiting area is reserved for consultations/tattoo clients only and any guests may be asked to leave if required.

  • Our studio requires minimum 48 hours notice to reschedule an appointment. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable between clients and artists. If you are unable to make it to a booking, please contact the studio and artist as soon as possible.

We allow one reschedule without any fees, however additional changes from the client’s end will incur partial to complete loss of deposit value, pending on the artist.

Our studio requires a deposit for all bookings, varying from $50-$200 per session, depending on the size of the tattoo, how long your session will be, and the artist.

All deposits go toward the cost of your tattoo/s overall, and is generally deducted at the end of your session/s, or you can pay the full amount and it can be used to roll over to an additional booking date.

  • Our artists generally quote a flat rate for small-mid range pieces, and charge a day rate or hourly rate for mid-large scale pieces depending on the artist.

If you would like a clearer idea on pricing, send us what you’d like here and our team will provide more information for you.

  • Healing varies with every individual. For best possible outcomes, follow the instructions provided by your Tattoo Artist.

After your session, leave the dressing applied by your artist for 1-2 hours, then remove and wash the area with a mild fragrance-free soap (avoid harsh scrubbing). Pat dry the area with a clean paper towel and allow to air dry for around 10 minutes.

Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream recommended by your artist, 2-3 times a day for around a week or until the skin has healed over.

During healing, the area will be sore, then can become flakey, dry and itchy. This is all a normal part of the healing process. Do not pick or scratch the area as this can hinder healing and will affect the final appearance of your tattoo.

Opt for loose or breathable clothing to prevent irritation and allow the area to breathe. Staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will support overall skin health which contributes to healing as well.

  • It is advisable to wait at least 48 hours after your tattoo before engaging in an intense workout. During the initial healing, sweating and friction can irritate the tattooed area. Listen to your body and if the tattoo feels sore or uncomfortable, its best to postpone vigorous physical activity.

Always follow specific aftercare provided by your artist, as healing times do vary on the size/location of tattoo, as well as individual. If you have concerns, please contact us or your artist directly.

  • We recommend avoiding submerging your tattoo in water (bath, pool, spa, beach etc) until it has completely healed which can take up to 3-4 weeks as this will irritate the area or cause infection and ultimately affect the healing process and end result.

Avoid exposing the tattoo to saunas/sun/extreme temperatures until it is completely healed again after 3-4 weeks. Even then, we recommend always applying sunscreen whenever your tattoo is not covered to keep it looking vibrant as long as possible.

  • Once healed, your tattoos are now a part of your skin. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will support overall skin health, as well as regular moisturising and sun protection.

Sometimes tattoos can get temporarily itchy or feel irritated/raised, even after years which can be a result of the pigment reacting with environmental changes like heat however this will eventually pass (refrain from scratching as this will be damaging the skin).

Your artist will generally advise you to reach out for a touch up if required once the initial healing process is complete, however please discuss this with your individual artist as it can vary.
